India-60 PDF Print E-mail

India-60 is a humanitarian project to support the needy senior citizens of India who are above 60 years old and are below the poverty line. These senior citizens are not capable of earning a livelihood for themselves. Without any immediate family members to take care of them, they are left alone with no sustainable ways for food and health care.

The project is aimed at improving the self-respect of the individuals, avoiding the loneliness, increasing the happiness and thereby improving their general well-being.

The project India-60 will not relocate senior citizens from their familiar environment. Yet, it aims to fulfill their basic needs by providing 1 good meal (lunch) a day, 2 sets of dresses per year, INR 50 per month (for incidental expenses,) and medical help. It costs around $200 per year to support an elder.
